World Music Day: The History of Egyptian Music

In celebration of World Music Day in June, we invite you to join Ahlan’s online workshop.

The Workshop will explore the captivating history of the Egyptian music and its influence on the music of the Mediterranean Region.

We will Engage in lively discussions about:

  • The ancient marvels of Egyptian music: from inventing musical instruments to the role of the “Maestro”.
  • The development of music during the early days of Islam in the Abbasid Caliphate.
  • The linguistic nuances of old and contemporary songs.
  • The diverse array of musical instruments found in different regions.
  • Male-oriented songs and expressing love for a beloved using masculine language.
Also the participants will be exchanging music-related insights from around the globe.
